Business Development

As the Marketing and Sales Manager you will be responsible for the development and management of strategic stakeholder-focused marketing engagement. The responsibility will include developing a strategy for communicating with key stakeholders along the customer lifecycle, including but not limited to the new business marketing strategies, B2B client communication and brand management.

Role purpose

As the Marketing and Sales Manager you will be responsible for the development and management of strategic stakeholder-focused marketing engagement. The responsibility will include developing a strategy for communicating with key stakeholders along the customer lifecycle, including but not limited to the new business marketing strategies, B2B client communication and brand management.

Externally you will develop strategies for engaging clients, ensuring clients receive effective communication around project, changes and business imperatives. In collaboration with the relevant business units develop focussed marketing campaigns aimed at the key market segments that Curo have identified as the main drivers of future growth.


Specific duties

  • Stakeholder-focused marketing communications

  • New Business engagement and support

    • Establish qualified leads

    • Primary engagement with qualified leads

    • RFP coordination

    • Quality assurance

    • Monitor competitor activity and suggest improvements

    • Market research



  • Marketing

    • Brand management

    • PR and Media Management

      • Establish and manage relationships with media/industry journalists

      • Manage incoming media requests

      • Networking/participating in industry events to build brand profile

      • Manage partnerships and sponsorships



    • Channel management

      • Website

      • Social media

      • Corporate event opportunities





  • Client engagement

    • CRM support

    • Client communications planning, deployment and reporting

    • Market research

Competencies: Experience, Skills and Behavioural Attributes

  • Strong professional networking and interpersonal skills to enable a good understanding of client and market trends

  • Strong grasp of market drivers and client requirements

  • Strong grasp of communication, digital and marketing trends

  • Maintain a strong brand for the organisation

  • Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines

  • Strong English writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally

  • Possesses a wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management

  • Act in accordance with the objectives and values of the organisation

  • Passion for delivery and service

  • Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results

  • Ability to manage external vendors



Education

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or equivalent industry experience

  • 5 - 7 years within the marketing industry with exposure to sales and/or financial services

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel essential

  • Excellent copywriting skills essential, experience drafting press releases and compelling marketing content
