Many Staff members may not be aware of the small but valuable contribution they are making every day.
Many staff ensure that they place their milk bottle and soda bottle lids in the collection container in the 2nd floor kitchen daily. Lids are then gathered by Amorette Herselman from our CCI team, washed and stored until there is a sizeable collection.

“Once I have a bucket full, they are delivered to an organisation in Piketberg. Interwaste in Johannesburg accepts 450kg plastic lids or 50kg bread tags per wheel chair. This is how the Piketberg organisation is able to distribute wheelchairs to those less fortunate in the area”.
